Rotary Club of Uptown Kampala Delivers Free Medical Outreach to Over 500 Residents in Kasawo
This initiative, rooted in Rotary’s commitment to service and healthier communities, mobilised Rotarians, medical professionals, and volunteers who dedicated their time and expertise to serve more than 500 community members.

The Rotary Club of Uptown Kampala brought vital healthcare services directly to the community of Kasawo in Mukono District through a free medical outreach held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Kasawo Health Centre III.

This initiative, rooted in Rotary’s commitment to service and healthier communities, mobilised Rotarians, medical professionals, and volunteers who dedicated their time and expertise to serve more than 500 community members.

Residents accessed a wide range of health services during the outreach. These included general medical examinations and consultations, immunisation, deworming, and child health services.

The medical team also provided malaria testing and treatment, HIV testing and counseling, dental care and extractions, and cancer screening for cervical, prostate, and breast cancers.

Additional services such as hepatitis B and sickle cell screening, family planning, mental health care, and psychosocial support were also offered.

Medicines and mama kits were distributed to expectant mothers and patients in need, helping to address critical healthcare gaps in the community.

Charter President Immy Nakyeyune emphasised the club’s dedication to advancing Rotary’s focus on disease prevention and treatment.

She noted that the outreach was designed to address pressing health challenges faced by underserved communities and to make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

Beyond health, the Rotary Club of Uptown Kampala also extended its service to education and the environment. Members visited Kitale R/C Primary School, where they planted 100 fruit trees within the school compound as part of Rotary’s commitment to environmental conservation. To support learners preparing for their national exams, the club donated mathematical sets and scholastic materials to Primary Seven pupils.

The club expressed heartfelt appreciation to its partners, sponsors, and Rotarians who contributed their time, resources, and expertise to make the outreach successful.

Key partners and sponsors included Mkazipreneur, Microlabs, C-Care, EAMV, Revital Healthcare Limited, Widespectrum Limited, and Vine General Medicare. This spirit of collaboration and service exemplifies Rotary’s ethos of “Service Above Self.”

Chartered in February 2025, the Rotary Club of Uptown Kampala is one of the vibrant young clubs under Rotary District 9213. Meeting every Friday at Canary Hotel, Bukoto, the club actively implements community service projects focused on health, education, environment, water and sanitation, and economic empowerment.

Through initiatives like the Kasawo medical outreach, the club continues to create lasting impact and strengthen community well-being.
